The new e-learning course Sphere for Managers – How to Champion the Sphere Approach in your Organisation provides a snapshot of the benefits of applying the Sphere standards and guidance on how to integrate the Sphere approach within humanitarian organisations.
The one-hour course works through real-life scenarios in various contexts and highlights some of the key features of the Sphere standards. It allows users to explore the versatility of the standards and how they can use them in different ways and different situations.
Developed by the Sphere Secretariat in collaboration with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA), the one-hour course is free of charge. There is no prerequisite to taking it.
The course is hosted on “kaya,” the HLA learning platform (you will need to create an account if you don’t have one already). It is available in English, Arabic, French and Spanish.
By the end of the course, users will be able to explain:
- The Sphere rights-based approach to humanitarian response.
- How Sphere standards are useful to preparing, managing and coordinating humanitarian response.
- The benefits of using the Sphere standards to fulfil their organisation’s commitment to quality and accountability.
- The first steps to disseminating Sphere within their organisations.
The course is aimed at senior managers involved in humanitarian action and working for organisations of all sizes, both national and international, as well as governmental agencies.
While designed primarily for these audiences, the course will be beneficial to anyone interested in getting a quick overview and refresher on Sphere.
